Name of Classmate: Oms, Camille Thomas    Married to G. Phillips Thomas (Phil) for 50 years.

Further Educational accomplishments: I graduated from Newcomb College, 1958 - B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, AOPi, with a major in history.

Family history: Married Phil Thomas June, 1959. Left NO  after Phil's graduation from medical school.  Spent one year in Florence, SC, before moving to Tampa, FL. where Phil did his residency in OB-GYN.  After 2 years in the Army, returned to Tampa and have lived here ever since. 

We have 3 children. Eryn (49) , Ashley (47) and Clay (40). my All 3 are married and live in Tampa within 10 miles of our house. Our son and one son-in-law are golf pros. Our other son-in-law is and engineer working for the county. Eryn has taught school for a number of years, but is now enjoying taking a break from working full time.  She works partime at the shop (Baby boutique) owned by her sister and sister in law.  I also do some parttime work there.  We have 6 grandchildren, Caitlin (22), PJ (16), Riley (10), Walker (10), Dillon (8), Wynne (7).

Achievements and Occupational History: Taught school at Live Oak Jr. High School and 1 year at Fortier High right down the hall from Miss Collins. My work history essentially ended when we left New Orleans.  I volunteered with various agencies, mostly through the Junior League, while the children were growing up.  I have worked partime at a retail store and now do some bookeeping at my daughter's shop.

Fortier Reunions attended: I think that I have attended all of the class reunions, and while my parents were living in NO visited at least twice a year.  Since they moved away, my visits have been fewer and more sporadic. Every so often, I feel the need to go back and get a "New Orleans fix".  

Other personal comments:  I do enjoy cooking NO style food.  I love going back and seeing old friends and renewing our bonds of friendship.  I've also enjoyed the emails I've received from friends and enjoyed the Super Bowl victory vicariously.  I'm looking forward to seeing our classmates  again. Also, I enjoy playing bridge, going to water aerobics but it's been too cold this winter to go very often. I'm also in a Book club, Investment Club and in several volunteer organizations, and do some baby sitting with the grandchildren.
