Family history:     Nancy Kuss Juge, will be my spouse of 50 years in October.  Not only is she a super wife but also an incredible mother, grandmother and photographer.  She did as much LSU as I had allowed, but I grabbed her before someone else could. She is the daughter of Arnold Kuss, our Fortier boy's counselor. Two children and four grandchildren; Oldest child, daughter MBA Tulane grad - Jennifer Juge Kottler is married to Bob Kottler, also MBA Tulane.  Jen's an event manager, former Tulane Alumni president residing in Arlington VA. Husband Bob Is an executive with CapitalOne Bank (formerly Hibernia) and serves as manager of their small business banking USA.  Her 21 yr old daughter, Sarah Dunn, is graduating May '10 from American University.   Son Richard Emile Juge, is also Tulane Grad and owner of RE/MAX Commercial Brokers (Metro New Orleans/Northshore) and is currently ( '10) serving as President of CCIM (Major educational/ethical and technical association for Commercial Real Estate agents USA). Rich also teaches over the USA all 10 CCIM courses and lectures as well.  He and his wife will be going for his teaching assignment to Russia in May (He's done 5 other overseas teaching jags in the past.)He married a super mom/wife, Beth, (also a registered nurse when time allows) with three wonderful children.   Charlie (age 11) 5th grade student at Christian Brothers, Max (age 9) 3rd grade student at St. Andrews Episcopal school on Carrollton Ave and our beautiful (trust me) granddaughter, Isabelle,is a second grade gal at Sacred Heart on St. Charles.  All of them love school and that trait can be attributed to their great parents.  (Am I biased?  Of course! Aren't you?)

Achievements and Occupational History:  Of my many activities of the past President and originator of the Terrytown Country Club; President of Terrytown Civic Association; long time member of our Algiers Kiwanis club; having written a biographical book (see www.TheHistoricNorthwestPassage.com) regarding my 4 year Coast Guard tour and especially about participating in an historic Arctic voyage; being a student of my former insurance occupation and being extremely proactive politically in the industry and serving on FEMA's National Flood Insurance Producer's panel as the only representative of the 65,000 captive insurance agents plus serving as president of the Louisiana Association of State Farm Agents; having had the opportunity to design and be contractor on both my 30 year residence, 30 year office structure; remodeling a camp into a great bayou getaway plus finally building out a beautiful condo in an 1878 structure in downtown; and getting involved in computing in the early years. Highlights also include having such a great extended family and participating in many organizations (Rode 15 yrs with my son in Endymion parades) and civic duties. I also remember my tour of duty with the Coast Guard fondly.   Early on I was fortunate to have been a member of our Fortier football team and having developed such long-term friendship. Obviously in the spirit of brevity, I 'm not mentioning a lot of other activities - 55 years is a long long time to cover in a few paragraphs.

Fortier Reunions attended:    I believe I 've done all our Reunions. of course resided in New Orleans area my entire adult life which helped.  I do believe I 've also done all of Nancy's '59 Class reunions as well.

Other personal comments:      Strongly know and believe that 'You are the maker of your own joy and sorrow.'
