2012 Interview

Name of Classmate: Hawkins, Ward   Wife Becke Hawkins 34 years of marriage, died in 1993 at the young age of 54 years.  Becke was the loving mother of my four children.  Second marriage ended in divorce in 2008

Further Educational accomplishments.  Two years LSU in Baton Rouge. Many

years at the school of Hard Knocks.

Family history: Two daughters:  Kristeva (East Texas) and Amber (New Mexico).   Two sons: Ward III (Wyoming) and Aubrey (North Carolina).  12 Grandkids and 4 Great grandkids.

Achievements and Occupational History: After leaving LSU I joined the Marine Corp and later became a police officer in El Paso, TX.  I then married and moved to Hobbs, New Mexico to start a career in the Petroleum Industry. I was employed 20 years with The Western Company and 21 years with Cudd Oil as Services in Sales/Management.  My work took me to New Mexico, Colorado,

Wyoming and Texas.  We spent 9 wonderful years in the beautiful State of

Wyoming. My children were all teenagers at the time so enjoyed skiing, snow mobiling, ice fishing, mountain hiking and hunting.  There is nothing more beautiful then riding a snow mobile in Yellowstone Park in the winter.  Last August 2009 I decided it was time to move back home to Louisiana, after being gone for 50 years.  I have two sisters/brother-in laws, many nieces, nephews all living in the Abita Springs area, so that is where I settled. An added advantage to moving back is I'm closer to my old high school "Fungus Buddies".

Fortier Reunions attended: Two, the 40 and 45th

Other personal comments: After completing 12 weeks of Marine Corp Boot Camp, I was convinced no task or challenge was unattainable in life.
