Name of Classmate:
Family history: I
attended the 40th with my late husband and we both had a wonderful time ...
he particularly commented on how the New Orleans women were still so very
attractive ... can't imagine why I didn't return sooner. All three 2015 venues
were lovely and was happy to see so many familiar faces and catch up on what
had happened in their lives; however, a lot of old friends chose not be there
or have moved on to a better place.
Achievements and Occupational History:
I have had a wonderful life since going
to Fortier and it did lay some groundwork for my future. Left New Orleans
in 1962 to join the staff of deLesseps S. Morrison at the Dept. of State in
D. C., and returned to N.O. when he ran unsuccessfully for governor. After
he was killed in the plane crash, I went back to D.C. and eventually went
to work for Senator Allen Ellender. Have dabbled in politics most of my life
but now am leaning to the right. Did volunteer work for George Bush when he
campaigned for President and then spent 4 years volunteering in Barbara Bush's
Chief of Staff's Office in the East Wing of the White House.
Fortier Reunions attended: 40th, & 60th
Other personal comments: During my time in Washington, met a darling Air Force officer and spent 39 wonderful years married to him ... did some travelling and living outside the U.S. and eventually he retired and worked in the aerospace business and still travelled to many interesting places. We have one son and he lives in D.C. and he'll be married in August - am very happy, of course. I have been blessed and am thankful to enjoy good health, have an abundance of friends here in Ponte Vedra Beach (moved here in 1995), play lots of golf, bridge and travel. One regret is not to have stayed in touch with so many friends back home in New Orleans.
